Chicago Names a Street After Ann S. Jhin

The city of Chicago names a street in honor of Mrs. Ann S. Jhin.

On April 2, 2015, the Chicago municipal government held a ceremony to mark the erection of a street sign in honor of our CEO, Korean American businesswoman, Mrs. Ann S. Jhin.  The honorary street sign designs North Kimball Avenue between West Belmont Avenue and West Adddison Street as Ann S. Jhin Way.

Jinny Opens its 10th Distribution Center in Detroit

Jinny Beauty Supply of Detroit Opens up January 26, 2015.

Jinny United has done it again!

The world’s largest multi-cultural beauty and professional salon/barber distributor proudly opened their 10th distribution center in Detroit, Michigan.

The new Detroit warehouse opened on January 26, 2015 and covers an expansive floor space of 62,000 square feet. Now Jinny United’s total warehouse square footage is slightly under 1.4 million square feet.

Mr. Ted Yoon will be in charge of the new Jinny Detroit branch. Previously he was the Chicago branch sales manager, and now Alex Yoon will fill that position.

Ted Yoon, when asked how he views the possibilities with opening this new location, he stated, “I see a brighter future in Detroit because now we will be able to service OTC customers within the same day.”

As with all new branches of Jinny United, Jinny wanted to thank all of their vendors and customers for their support. When asked how he views the OTC industry in 2015, Eddie Jhin stated, “The OTC industry will be very challenging this year. Distributors and stores must change how they do business in order to survive in 2015.” As for the plans for the rest of 2015, Eddie Jhin stated, “There will be several more locations that will be opening up this year.”

Jinny Chicago moves back to Kimball Avenue

Jinny is moving back to its roots!  The Jinny Chicago distribution center is moving from Caldwell location to its original location on Kimball Avenue.

On September 22nd, Jinny United top operation managers Mr. Ki Nam Kim (Los Angeles), Mr. Jack Park (Atlanta), Mr. Devin Ok (Dallas), Mr. Brian Oh (Miami), Mr. Bum Shin (Atlanta), and Mr. Joey Ku (Atlanta) arrived in the 160K square foot Niles building and started the moving process back to Jinny United’s original 100K square foot Kimball headquarter building in which the founder Mr. Tae H. Jhin operated out of until his passing. Mr. Ki Nam Kim stated, “This move process was the hardest project that we have endured thus far because both buildings were filled with inventory and materials, and we had to move from a much bigger, taller warehouse to a smaller and shorter warehouse.” Mr. Brian Oh added, “We learned some new things out of this experience and we will apply these to our new operation. It will only make our company stronger next time.” Mr. Devin Ok commented, “At the end of the day, when the date is set by our top manager Mr. Eddie Jhin we surprisingly always get it done on time.” Amazingly within 50 days on November 3rd, all operations were entirely moved to the Kimball building. By November 10th they had completely cleaned out their Niles building and fully organized Kimball to be exactly how they wanted it to be. Mr. Eddie Jhin stated, “Due to our newest expansion to the Detroit market in the month of December 2014, the decision of condensing our Chicago operation into one building and operating out of the Kimball building rather than Niles will benefit our company in many ways. Our top people and the entire Chicago staff worked very hard and they are an amazing group of people!!! I am very fortunate to have such people.” Relentlessly, Jinny United mentioned that on December 1st they will send their top crew to Detroit and they plan to open either on January 5th or 12th to their customers. In 2014, Jinny has moved and opened three branches: Memphis in May, Niles to Kimball in November, and Detroit in December. They have set another record year to build for their future.

Exclusive: Miami VIP Tradeshow

On Sunday, August 3rd Jinny Miami had a VIP Special International Tradeshow for their domestic and international top customers.

This was a successful and special event to which Jinny Miami invited only a certain amount of vendors and customers. It was a very different concept for a Jinny Tradeshow.

Ms. Lan Kim Wilkerson, International Sales Manager, stated, “We needed to support our international customers by hosting an event like this, and it all came together perfectly. We have accomplished our goal in servicing the needs of our international customers.”

Andy Son, Domestic Sales Manager, added, “We treat our domestic customers pretty much the same all year around, but I feel strongly that our company needs to support those customers who are very loyal to the company. This type of an event was the answer to those loyal customers. My ultimate goal is for my sales people to add more domestic customers whenever we do this special event again.”

Lastly, Eddie Jhin, Top Manager of Jinny United, closed with a speech after this event.  He stated, “Jinny has not had a tradeshow for almost two years now and I do not see us doing a Jinny Tradeshow in 2015 either. When Miami members wanted to have their own tradeshow, I initially turned them down, but when they mentioned that this event would be different than what we have done in the past I was convinced 100% and wanted to support them fully.”

He added, “Our company has a big impact on our industry and I am fully aware that most of our customers want Jinny to come back with our original tradeshow in 2015, but we need to redefine the true concept and the meaning of what my father originally created and invented.  Once we invent the new way to come up with the true meaning of a tradeshow, Jinny will announce it to all of our customers and vendors, and will once again have our tradeshows.”

Jinny Opens its Eighth Distribution Center in Maryland

Jinny Beauty Supply of Baltimore Opens up August 19, 2013.


Jinny’s top three operation managers arrived in Baltimore, Maryland on Sunday, July 14th and they began to do what they do best the following day with their warehouse men – opening the new branch.

Mr. Devin Ok (Dallas branch), one of the top three Jinny United operation managers, stated, “We have a very unique way of opening any branch we decide to open. We know all the mistakes from the past openings and we made notes so we do not make these same mistakes ever again. Basically, we open the warehouse before we actually get there in our minds, and we communicate this over and over with our staff members until we get tired of talking about it.”

The Jinny Baltimore staff members are made up of all Jinny key members lead by Mr. Ji Ho Yoo (Dallas branch). Yoo stated, “Our company has been telling us we will be opening in this market since mid-last year, so we are just glad that the time has finally come.”

Yoo added, “Just like our warehouse set up team, our whole company functions with a mission and goal always. The top management always gives us the guidelines with its time management schedules and we make sure that the job gets done. Our main job is to service our customers with the best service, promotions and prices, and our full inventory selection. These are the most important elements in order to succeed in Maryland.”

When OTC Beauty Magazine asked Eddie Jhin of Jinny United if there was anything special about this opening compared to others he stated, “Maryland OTC stores take their business very seriously, and I really respect this and I know that we will do everything possible to uplift them to the higher level.”

This new warehouse in Baltimore, Maryland will be Jinny United’s eighth distribution center across America. Baltimore distribution will be the very first warehouse in the northeast region and now Jinny will be able to deliver almost 95% the very next day.  Eddie Jhin stated, “Our ultimate goal is to deliver to 95% the very same day.”

Jinny Opens its 9th Distribution Center in Memphis, TN

memphis_graphicOnce again, Jinny United held true to their word and on April 28 they set their feet in their Memphis warehouse, which is set to be open to their customers on Monday, May 19.

This distribution center will be their ninth, amazingly creating 1.34 million square feet of warehouse spaces throughout America.

Eddie Jhin, President of Jinny United stated, “Our ultimate goal is to provide same day service in America where we have our customers. Ultimately we want to build the best logistic structure for all beauty related products, and once we open several more locations this year and in 2015, we have accomplished this goal.”

He added, “Our company will begin to install automated warehouse systems and use the latest technology to improve our efficiency and to eliminate any unnecessary costs in the distribution model. This type of an investment will be large for the company, but we have already started this process two and half years ago and are still moving forward.”

As with all of the new branches of Jinny United, Jinny wants to thank all of their vendors and customers for their support.
