TRENDS

High Style from
the Catwalk to the Counter

Whether it’s Paris Milan or the Hood, styling trends follow fashion trends. Intricate designs inspired by global fashion icons are translated into multicultural styling trends. Light and versatile styling aids support elegant and exotic shaped dos or free flowing twists and tendrils. Potions that polish and protect styles allow for natural and synthetic blending. Silken fabrics grace global runways just as silkening products shape and define hairstyles. Protein silks are used in mousses, gels and liquids to impart strength and sheen. With multicultural styling, it is important to offer products that add fashion value at various stages: volume at the root stage, shape and contour at the wet stage, and sheer vibrancy at the finishing stage. There’s no fashion statement that’s complete without color accents. Your multicultural customers are style leaders—both in hair and fashion design. They may be dramatically Afrocentric one day and elegant European the next. Styling ranges from the shortest cuts to the longest locks. Fashion is as diverse as the multivariate cultures fused in local markets. Styling products address textural nuances that shape African, Caribbean or Hispanic trends. Notice the product names, ingredients and package design. Products, appliances and accessories all capture the global style inspired by local flair. Styling trends that grace catwalk models should be available at the OTC counter…the true center of world fashion.
